CAJ participated in the “Sustainability Reporting Symposium” hosted by A4S

On March 11, Corporate Action Japan (CAJ) attended the “Sustainability Reporting Symposium” in Tokyo, hosted by a UK-based non-profit organization “Accounting for Sustainability (A4S)” with approx. 40 invitees from large Japanese companies, leading asset managers, and financial institutions in attendance. CAJ was represented by Yasunori Takeuchi (Representative Director) and Mizuki Awano (Engagement Lead) who had been in support of A4S from the planning phase of the event.

Following the keynote speeches by Mr. Masamichi Kono (Trustee of the IFRS Foundation) and Mr. Satoshi Ikeda, Mr. Brad Sparks (Executive Director/USA) and Mr. Constant van Aerschot (Director/APAC) of A4S respectively delivered a presentation on the latest trends on sustainability accounting and reporting. In the breakout session, participants were split into small groups to discuss issues in sustainability reporting while referring to case studies.

This symposium would serve as a good opportunity for invitees to learn more about the CFO and Investors Roundtable that A4S and GFANZ Japan plan to co-host in July in Tokyo.  CAJ is poised to render support to the roundtable as well, and contribute to advancing the agenda on how companies and investors can improve sustainability reporting to help create value in the transition to net zero.
