CAJ joins the International Bankers Association of Japan

Corporate Action Japan (CAJ) has joined the International Bankers Association of Japan (IBA Japan) as an associate member. IBA Japan is the trade association for foreign banks, securities firms, and asset management companies operating in Japan and represents the views and voices of international financial institutions. While IBA Japan engages with Japan’s regulators and the Central Bank of Japan, it works closely with a host of stakeholders such as government agencies, Japanese financial institutions, industry associations, and academic institutions to contribute to the growth and development of Japan’s financial and capital markets,

With its membership recently opened to asset management companies (previously only limited to banks and securities firms), CAJ decided to join IBA Japan as an associate member. We are committed to contributing to the growth and development of Japan’s capital markets and asset management industry in close cooperation with other asset management companies.

At present, the Financial Services Agency (FSA) has been implementing a suite of policy plans to achieve the Government’s initiative for Japan to become a leading Asset Management Center. CAJ, through engagement activities with institutional investors and corporations, desires to be in integral part of driving forces to accelerate stewardship activities “from form to substance” and the promotion of corporate sustainability.
