Akira Nakamura, Executive\u00a0Officer\u00a0of Corporate Action Japan (CAJ), spoke as a lecturer at a seminar hosted by Green Building Japan (GBJ), titled “The Frontier of Green Buildings and ESG Investment: From the Perspectives of Japanese Policies and LEED v5.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(*) LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building rating system developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a non-profit organization in the United States. Certification assessments are conducted by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This seminar focused on connecting Japan\u2019s Green Transformation (GX) policies and carbon pricing with building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), ESG investment, and LEED. It brought together diverse value chain players active in the construction, real estate, and finance sectors, providing an opportunity to deepen concrete discussions on collaboration and implementation from both practical and investment perspectives. We believe it was highly meaningful for CAJ to contribute to this crucial milestone, which cross-functionally links policy, certification, and investment while fostering dialogue among stakeholders. “This collaboration with CAJ was a milestone for GBJ, marking our first initiative to connect national Green Transformation (GX) strategies with LEED certification and green buildings. It was highly meaningful as an experimental effort toward value creation. We also received feedback from USGBC North Asia, who took the stage alongside CAJ, praising the event as ‘deeply meaningful and a great success.’ Introducing investors\u2019 perspectives to stimulate discussion on driving demand was a valuable outcome. We are delighted to have had nearly 90 participants join us both in person and online.
